History
First of all, I'd like to say that the word "Sharar" is a pure Arab word means letterly "Sparks" and semantically "Brave, Strong and Hot-headed." Is it a coincidence to have the same family name in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Kuwait, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Spain, Malta, Cecily , Ireland, UK, USA and in other European and S.American countries and it has the same pronunciation regardless of the different languages, cultures and spelling and later 'races'. Historically, the Arab tribes (and a part of the Sharars were among them) immigrated from the Arab Peninsula, namely from Yemen, with the Muslem Arab armies in the 7th and 8th centuries AD to the East; to the present Iran, and the historical India (Pakistan, Bangladesh and India). There, they settled in those regions, married and increased in number and they are still totally Muslems in those areas. They still have the same family name. Their features didn't change unless they had mixed with other races. By chance, I found an Indian writer called Abdulhalim Sharar (you can check at Google), another has a beauty salon in Bangladesh; a woman. In Kuwait, an ex-minister of health was called Sa'eed Sharar. In Iran, there is a valley or a Geographical area called Sharar. In Jordan, there is a writer called Awad Sharar who wrote 'A Bison In The Tree' recently (December 2012). In Syria, there is a valley called 'Wadi Sharar' in the south of Syria and there is a member in their parliament called (?) Sharar. When the Muslem Arab armies headed to Spain and a new Muslem state emerged (Andalusia) in the 8th c AD, the Sharars were among them. And so, we can understand why some villages or towns in the present Spain have the same names of the Sharar villages in Yemen (Maria, for an example). Later, when Spain was reunited in 1492, the Muslem Arabs had to convert to Christianity or leave Spain. Some of them, including Sharars, sailed along the Spanish and the French coast to the UK and to Ireland- they might had sailed even long before that date for trade. Others crossed the mountains to France, Germany and Europe in general. With time passage, those Sharars converted to Christianity and they were naturalized and became citizens of those parts of the world. From Europe they immigrated to the New World. There should be some manuscripts in the Spanish museums (Arab texts) refering to the families, individuals or groups including Sharars. DNA analysis can also be helpful.
Personally, I've got recently a handwritten document that goes back to the 19th C in which I found that my great-great-great grandfather was called 'Sharar Sharar' which means that Sharar can be an individual name as well as a family name.
