RUTH SUSAN SOJAK
Central Valley, N.Y.Ruth Susan Sojak, of Central Valley, a retired administrative assistant of New York City Dept. of Public Works and 17-year area resident, died Sunday, October 9, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown. She was 88.
The daughter of the late Harold Troeller and Frances Burnham Troeller, she was born September 4, 1917 in New York City.
She was the widow of Vincent Sojak. Survivors include three daughters, Ruth D. Whitmore of Central Valley,
Frances Civello of Brooklyn, Helen Bremner of Oak Harbor, Wash.; one brother James Troeller of Melbourne, Fla.;
nine grandchildren, Susan Powell, Daniel, Joseph and David Whitmore, Edward, Richard, Joseph and Carmela Civello, Francine Wenzler;
five great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Christopher Powell, Samantha, Alexandria and Louis W. Whitmore;
and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas, Harold and William Troeller; two sisters, Grace Ligarzewski and Elizabeth Shinski;
three grandchildren, Louis Whitmore, Michael and Steven Bremner.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, October 14 at the Smith, Seaman and Quackenbush Inc. Funeral Home,
515 Route 32, Highland Mills.
Prayer services will be held Friday at the funeral home.
A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 15 at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Route 32, Highland Mills.
The Rev. John Palaparambil will officiate.
Interment will be in the Cemetery of the Highlands, Highland Mills.
