Peter Tombacos was born in Limnos Greece. He was the oldest of four siblings born a year apart. He had two sisters, Maria and Teressa. A brother name Jimmy. Their mother died a few years after the last child was born. Their grandmother took custody for a while and eventually all the children were put out for adaption.Two girls were adopted by a family called Simeon from the same Island but their business and home was in Cairo Egypt. Eventually the Maria my mother was adopted George Aftousmis, a businessman from Khartoum Sudan, His wife Elpida was a Daughter of Simeon. Teressa also married and made her home in Cairo Egypt. Peter's younger brother was adopted by a family Stamatis from South Africa. Jimmy married and had six children. Jimmy did not know he was adopted until Peter in one of his ship voyages located him in South Africa and told him he was adopted. Bothers and sisters have all passe away. I met once all of them. Teressa I met in Cairo in 1972. Peter I met in Clearwater Fl the same year he passed away. He was married to a divorcee with children from her previous marriage.Jimmy came to California with his wife in 1984 and stayed with me fro a week. Finally their family was not Tombacos, Their father (my grandfather) was a tobacco farmer, his real name Katakozinos but because he was involved in the war for Independence he changed his name. I guess he abandoned his children for unknown reasons or running from the occupiers or the law. He ended up in the Island of Lesbos, remarried and I heard he had one daughter that no one ever met. The children and grand children of these adopted three, Maria, Teressa, and Jimmy are all doing very well and scattered in USA, England, Greece, South Africa and Australia,
