The parties were married at Carlton England on September 20, 1924. (Extract from the Argus Newspaper, Melbourne Victoria dated Friday 22 July 1938 - Page 10).

1924: Joseph Antoine Thouard Married Winifred November 1924. They arrived in Sydney February 1926. First wife Winifred left him between 1926 and 1928 (circa November 1927) He married Alice in circa 1927 Bigamy admission May 1928-Court June 1928 Divorced Winifred 26/9/38. Married Dorothy FISK 11 October 1944. They knew each other from at least from June 1943.
1925: Beryl Jacqueline Thouard born July /August/September 1925 at Nottinghamshire, daughter of Joseph Antoine (Tony) Thouard by first wife Winifred Edith (nee Alderson). His first marriage later divorced.
1926: Joseph Antoine (Tony), Winifred and daughter Beryl Thouard (aged around 6 months) emigrated to Australia arriving Melbourne in Feb 1926.
1927: Joseph Antoine (Tony) Thouard separated from Winifred.
1941: Winifred Edith Thouard (divorced wife of Joseph Antoine (Tony) Thouard) married Percy Godfrey Brown according to Victorian Births, Marriages & Death Records.

Jacqueline died in 1986 in Adelaide at age 61. Winifred Thouard (nee Alderson) born 1906 gave birth to Jacqueline in 1925 and Valerie Margaret Thouard in 1933.
J A Thouard was the father of Jacqueline but not the father of Valerie (JAT and Winifred had separated permanently in 1927/28).
Winifred (aka Peggy) Thouard (nee Alderson) still retained her married name “Thouard” - logical as she did not divorce JAT until 1938.
Valerie was born in 1933 (father not named as yet) five years after separation from and five years before divorce from JAT. She is presently 84 years of age.
Jacqueline was eight years old when Valerie was born but we do not know whether Jacqueline was living with Winifred or whether she was institutionalised, fostered, adopted or .......?
The father of Valerie not known and probably not Percy Godfrey Brown who Winifred married in 1941.

My mother is Valerie Margaret Thouard and she was born in Melbourne in 1933, to Winifred (known as Peggy) Alderson, and, whilst she did have the Thouard name, he was not her father but I'm not sure of the name of her father (my grandfather). Mum did get a High school scholarship to Presentation College in Windsor Victoria, which would fit the approximate timing of 1946. They lived in Brighton at that time. Peggy definitely remarried and that timing of 1941 looks about right although I'm not sure of his name. I will ask my Mum and see what else I can find out but her memory isn't the best these days.
Her sister [actually a half-sister] Jacqueline, was born around 1925 and died around 1986 in Adelaide. She was married, later divorced, to Albert Drake (dec.) and they had 3 children; Gregory, Peter (dec.) and Sharon
