History

My mother Martina Typinski was the daughter of Adam Typinski. I was told that the "ski" at the end of the family name was given by the Czar if Russia. It was like a knighthood. Our family came into it honestly, from the Czar of Russia, as I was told, because I was told our great uncle was a general in the Czars cavelry. A lot of people added the "ski" to their name whilst arriving into the U.A. I think it was possibly Czar Alexander, as my grandfather, Adam , was born , as I have read , in 1916-1918. I am possibly wrong. Though the Bolsevick revolution was around the early 1900's. I was told that our uncle was knighted by the Czar for sure. I hope that this helps someone.

I was told that it was originally RmTypinch, something like that. His father was a saddle maker outside of Warsaw, Poland.

The papers from my grandfather, Adam Typinski, through the Ellis Island records say that he cane from "Austrio Hungary". He came to the U.S.through , Hamburg , Germany. It's in the Ellis Island records.
