Vaisnys(Voisnis) originated from some Vilnius Gipsy tabor(camp). Their family tree is on geni.com.  The most famous archbishop Jurgis Matulaitis was a  grandson of  Agnieska  Vaisnyte. Lith.famous diplomat and presidential candidate Stasys Lozoraitis was a son of Marija Vaisnyte-Aseviciene (1883-1924). Three  guerrillas Vaisnys have sacrificed their lives fighting Soviet occupants. Five Vaisnys were volunteers who fighted for independance of Lithuania in 1918-1920. Audrius Vaisnys is a deacon of Vilnius university.
There are about 130 Wojsznis(Vaisnys) in Poland. One Wojsznis was married to a female Mordas-Zhilinska and they started using the tripple surname Wojszyn-Murdas-Zylinski. Ippolit-Voishin-Murdas-Zhilinsky(1856-1926) and Leonid Voishin-Murdas-Zhilinsky(1861-1924) were Tsar generals.
