valvi are indian adhivasi , they live in a Gujarat and Maharashtra border area. Long years ago they migrated from North India to Gujarat and  Maharastra , mahdya pradesh border. 
Sage Valmiki himself was a adhivasi name Vallya who was a robber but from one incident ( Narad muni realised him the truth of the life) he changed totally and started writing Ramayana before the birth of lord rama, *ramayana was wrote before and incidents or journey of Lord rama  took place afterwards. Sage valmiki was one of the devotee of lord rama , and during vanwaas of lord rama adhivasi people help him. and till now whenever the valvi or adhivasi people meet they say Ram Ram instead of hello ya namaste.
