Hello - Ernst Adolph Theodor Wiesenhavern came to NZ from Australia after hus son Christian and wife Dorette (Welge) die in 157 and 1858. His two brothers Charles (or Carl) Wiesenhavern Folk and Herman Frederich Otto (called Otto) Wiesenhavern also came to NZ (probably separately) and then settled in the province of Nelson. Adolph ran the Top House Accommodation House for around 20 years at Wairau Pass; Otto was a wine seller in Nelson and Carl was at one time a mine manager but alter grew fruit. Otto died on a ship when apllanning to return to Prussia to visit their parents; Carl (or Charles ) is buried in the St Pauls Anglican Churchyard in Brightwater, Nelson and Adolph who died at the age of 84 is buried in the Whakapuaka Historic Cemetery in Nelson. Charles (or Carl) Folk and Herman Frederich Otto, emigrated from Germany to Australia, travelling on the Goldfinder from Liverpool via Cape Town to Melbourne in 1853. Few passengers survived this trip due to an epidemic on board with the ship quarantined in Melbourne for weeks. They were the sons of the Right Reverend Superintendent (Sir) Christian Wiesenhavern of Munstedt, Hanover (d. 2 July 1874, at 81 years).and Lady Wiesenhavern (died August 7 1874, aged 75 years.)I am very interested in finding out more of his family in Prussia/Germany and Australia (Ballaraat, Victoria).
