My gg grandfatherwas Joseph franklin Withington. He married Annetta Gardner and together had a bunch of kids. It was on a visit to one of her children that she and one of her daughters died. It was said that a son's wife had recently given birth and, since she had come down with milk fever and unable to care for the other children, Annetta along with her daughter Nancy set out to stay with them for awhile. The two ladies came toa spot at the Meramec River near Pacific Mo that was then known as Priests Ford now known by the family as Withingtons Ford. The horse faultered in the spring flood filled river and all were drowned. Both ladies were buried the Pacific Mo.
