Uncle John’s obituary. He was killed in action in Corsica on May 13, 1944. He was originally buried in Corsica and when the war ended the US government gave grandma the option to leave him where he was buried or bring him home to Brooklyn. He was returned in 1946 and St. John’s Cemetery is his final resting place in the Albaneze family grave.

Marie, known to her family as Mary, married Robert (Bob) on March 2, 1957. Together they had 3 children Robert (Bobby) born 05/26/1958, John (Johnny) born 02/26/1962 and Susan on 12/29/1966. She has 4 grown grandchildren, Patricia (Tricia) of Mansfield, Oh, Thomas of Victoria, TX, Brooke of Sugar Hill, GA and Stephen of Cumming, GA. Prior to her marriage, Marie was the first college graduate in her family having graduated with an Associate degree in Bookkeeping from Brooklyn College. She worked as a bookkeeper for Macy’s Herald Square having skated in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in the mid 1950’s and then working for Allied Chemical in Manhattan prior to becoming a mother. She moved from South Oxone Park, Queens to Fords, NJ in June of 1959, Southborough, Massachusetts in June, 1969 and then North Brunswick, NJ in June, 1971. She divorced in September 1983 and resumed her career and moved to Sayreville, NJ in September 1984. She worked as full charge bookkeeper managing payroll and taxes for the largest employment agency in NJ as well as handling the books for several restaurants, bakeries and a Catholic missionary group in Central NJ. At the age of 81 she retired to Cumming, GA after several years with an Accounting firm in North Jersey where she was head bookkeeper managing their payroll and corporate and payroll taxes. She recently moved to The Phoenix Memory Care Assisted Living in Cumming, GA.
Anna was married to Paul in 1964 and they moved to Waltham, Massachusetts where Paul spent his career with Polaroid. Together they had one son John Paul in 1966. Anna had a career in business prior to marrying Paul when she became a devoted wife and mother.
Rose (Rosie) was married in 1946 to NY Police Captain John (Jack) Neylan. They lived most of their life first on 61st Street in Brooklyn and then from 1970 - 1992 on 77th Street in Bay Ridge before moving to NJ to be closer to their children John, Maureen and Kevin and their 9 grandchildren. Rose was a devoted wife and mother her entire life.
Minnie was married to Mate (Mike) Kraljic. They resided on 47th Street in Hell’s Kitchen and had 2 sons John and Richard (Richie). Minnie was a housewife and amazing cook and baker keeping the Albaneze ethnic foods alive. After her mother died she became the family matriarch keeping in contact with Croatian and American family members. She also took care of her father after her mother passed traveling from Manhattan to Brooklyn at least once weekly. She had a great laugh and a huge heart and was loved by all. Mike worked for Horn & Hardart Bakery in Manhattan his entire career until they went out of business and then worked for several years at Madison Square Garden. He was a very quiet man who died of a broken heart 4 months after Minnie passed.
Jerry was married to Helen and they lived most of their life in Ramsey, NJ in Bergen County. Jerry was retired from the Pennsylvania RR and they retired to Florida where their grown sons Robert (Bobby) and Thomas (Tommy) reside.
Catherine died from childhood measles prior to her 3rd birthday.
Jele (Helen) Fabianic of Omišalj, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Croatia was born on December 12, 1888, and died at age 73 years old on December 27, 1961.
John Albaneze of New York United States was born in April 1888. He was in a relationship with Jele (Helen) Fabianic, and had children Catherine Albaneze, Jerome "Jerry" Albaneze, Minnie Kraljic, Rose Neylan, John S Albaneze, Anna Rouillard, and Marie Smith. John Albaneze died at age 82 years old in April 1970.
