Clemmet "Clem" Lotzer was the second oldest son of Joseph P. Lotzer (b 1875 d 1933) and Mary Julia Fahey (b 1880 d 1949). He was married to Erna Marie Jeschke, and they had five children together (Theresa, Jerome, Katherine, Marella and Gerald). Clem and his older brother, Gilbert and younger brother Lawrence worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad.
At the start of WW II, he tried to join the military however he was denied service as his work with the railroad was considered an "essential" service to the war effort. During the war he did everything he could do to support the troops including scrap metal drives, paper drives and promoting and buying US War bonds. He always had a Victory Garden. Some of his younger brothers served in the military and he regularly wrote to them about life at home, to try to keep up their spirits.
Before the War, he and his older brothers built the "Family Home" located in Morehead Minnesota.
A strong Catholic, he was instrumental is raising money, building and helping to support, St Ansgar Catholic Church.

Strong independent woman who was not afraid to tackle any challenge. She had five children and raised five stepchildren. She survived two spouses and one child. Education was important to her, and she was a woman of her word. When she made a promise, you could be certain that it would be kept.
As a homeowner she learned woodworking, carpentry, brick laying, plumbing and electricity.
