Wow! Many of Meridian’s future leaders are in this group of photos. Think about this…. Assuming these young fellows graduated in early June 1945, they may have missed being drafted. WW II in Europe ended in May 1945. Although military planners thought WW II in the Pacific might go on into 1947 with a bloody land invasion of Japan, events taking place in New Mexico, and other locations, would suddenly end the war in the Pacific in mid-August 1945; 10th, 11th graders & seniors
