I have no memories unfortunately. He passed away before my first birthday. He drowned in the Raisin River with his brother joesph Portala. I remember when I was a freshman in high school. I met a girl named Rebecca Mitchell. We became best friends quickly. The first time I spent the night at her home, her mom asked to a picture of my brother. We were going through my pictures in my wallet. Her step dad happened to look over our shoulders. He than asked who was the person we were looking at. I told him my father his name was John Portala. He said he went to school with him. He asked me how he was doing. I had to tell him he passed away. He was very sorry to hear that. I asked him what my father was like. He said they were good friends and they would hit each other in the arm when seen each other. Becky and I couldn't believe it that was what we did at school as well. It made me feel like I was a little bit like him.
