This was my daddy. Although he died when I was 3 yrs old, I have a few vivid memories of him. I remember that he would give me a bath, piggyback me into my room & brush my hair 100 strokes, while telling me how beautiful I was. I remember him killing a tarantula in my sand box, when we lived in Center TX...And I remember the day he died, although I did not yet know what death was. We went to Oklahoma in this big, black, hot round car to visit my Uncle at his pipe yard. My daddy was gone and never came back. Scotty & I looked for him, from then on, everywhere we went...for years. We were told that he had gone to live with Jesus, but we did not understand why and could not accept that.
Scotty was the spitting image of our dad, the man they called "PeeWee". I look a lot like him as well.
I am told that I got his great sense of humor and that he was quite the practical joker. I also inherited his sense of business and his sales ability.
Barbara Kay was my mother's youngest sister. She was wild, fun and loved to sing! She gave birth to one child, Stacy Lynn & had a stepson named David. She was previously married to Hollis Hogue. Barbara had a few jobs, the longest one was with Safeway.

Known as Noni, she was a loving & cheerful Aunt, who always had a positive attitude and was full of sound advice. Noni left East Texas, in the 60s, moved to Anchorage, Alaska, which was her favorite place in the world. She went back to Marshall, Texas to take care of her mother until she died. She was true blue & could always keep a secret when necessary. She was open minded & non judgemental.
She was married once to a man named Kenneth, whose name I do not recall.
Noni was my hero. If I could be like anyone, in this world, it would be her.
Norma Dean Moss was born on September 13, 1935. Family, friend, or fan, this family history biography is for you to remember Norma Dean Moss.
She went by Geraldine. Us grandkids called her "MeeMa". She was the most wonderful woman that ever walked the face of this earth. A devoted Mother & Grandmother, her children & grandchildren were her life! She deprived herself of many luxuries to take care of all of them. She was an amazing cook & prepared tables of food for Thanksgiving, Christmas & Easter. She worked at Blue Buckle Overall Company for many years, making overalls, but still sewed most of the clothes that she, her daughters and granddaughters wore when she was off work.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She had a corndog stand at the fair every year. She later worked as a clerk (and I believe, retired from) Jack's Liquor Store.
Above and beyond all of this, she was my very best friend & confidante until the day she died. I will never meet a finer woman than her...there just aren't any.
Us grandkids called him "Poppy". He loved to fish the Sabine River. He taught my mom, Doris, to be a pretty good auto mechanic.
Every Easter, when we were young, he would, unbeknownst to us, release a live rabbit and say, "Well, lookie here...There goes the Easter Bunny!". We all loved that so much.
