Story of his POW is limited. Story has it that his wife Susannah was contacted near the end of the war saying that Ransom was ill to come and get him. We do not know if she made it there in time or if he passed away while still in camp. Also, we do not know where he was a POW and if the body came back to Thomasville for burial
