Arthur Rice traveled on Titanic with his mother and 4 brothers. Titanic hit an iceberg at 11:40 PM. Most passengers were unaware of the danger. A steward later told them to put on lifebelts and go up to the decks. Margaret managed to get on the decks with her sons. The crew wouldn't allow her oldest sons to board the lifeboat, so she managed to stay behind along with her 2 younger sons. During the final moments, the family was last seen on the stern. Arthur's body was never recovered.
