Julius Henry Marx was born on October 2, 1890 in New York, New York United States to Simon Marx, and had siblings Manfred Marx, Leonard Marx, Arthur Marx, Milton Marx, and Herbert Manfred Marx. He married Ruth Johnson on February 4, 1920 and they later divorced on July 15, 1942. They had children Arthur Julius Marx and Miriam Ruth (Marx) Allen. He also married Kay Marvis on July 21, 1945 and they later divorced on May 12, 1951. They had a child Melinda Marx.
