At the advanced age of 92 years, Mrs. Lucy Hearn, widow of the late Mr. Eli Hearn, of Rokewood Junction, died yesterday at the residence of her son-in-law W. H. Branston of Lyons street south. The deceased lady was a native of Aylesbury, England, and she arrived at Geelong in the Osprey in March 1849. From that time till her death she had not left Victoria, and the greater part of her long life was spent at Rokewood Junction. About 10 or 12 years ago she came to Ballarat and has since lived with her son-in-law. Her husband predeceased her in 1894. She had a family of ten children- five sons and five daughters- seven of whom are still alive. Three weeks ago she attended divine worship at All Saints. During the following week she became ill, and her strength gradually gave out. The late Mrs. Hearn was held in very high regard.
