Mary Ann (Macfarlane) Plews was born on February 9, 1839 in Arrochar, Dunbartonshire County Scotland to Donald Macfarlane and Mary Ann (Rooke) Macfarlane, and had siblings Jessie Louisa (MacFarlane) Pepper-Staveley, Walter Macfarlane, Donald Macfarlane, Richard Macfarlane, and Norval Macfarlane. She married Thomas Robert Maddison Plews, and had children Amy Plews, Jessie (Plews) Newby, Mary Anne Minnie (Plews) Drysdale, Thomas Walter Plews, Norval H. Plews, Kate Maud Plews, Ethel Jane/Janet (Plews) Verschoyle, Eva Plews, John M. Plews, and Ian Plews. Mary Plews died at age 72 years old on November 22, 1911 at Sisters Home - Summer Lodge, in Crawley, Sussex County England, and was buried at - St Margaret of Antioch Churchyard, in Ifield.
