Nita Pearl Talley Barnes was born to George Edgar Talley (1871-1937) and while her death certificate lists "Bertha Talley" as the mother, her siblings mother is identified as Elizabeth Hill (Jones) Talley. She had a number of siblings including Lytt Gardener Talley where all siblings are listed. In the 1950s census it shows that Nita was living with her aunt and uncle Annie & Louraine Nance in North Carolina. She married Richard Pearson Barnes (1894-1969) and had two children Ottis H. Barnes (1916-1917) and Nancy Barnes (1931-1931) who both died as infants.
