Alexander McBride Jr.
Alexander McBride Jr B: 3-23-1825 D: 10-3-1895 (3rd of 9 / son of Alexander McBride - Mary Armstrong) / he never married / Alexander Jr was one of the 49r's who went to California via wagon train in search of gold. He returned shortly after the War of the Rebellion & is reputed to bring with him considerable gold. He bought land in Harlansburg, where he lived until his death & made a home for the children of his older brother David. His remains lie in Plain Grove Presbyterian Cemetery, outside of Slippery Rock, Pa. (genealogy website - )
