Alice "Mid" Hill was born to James Marvin & Rebecca (Hartley) Hill in 1872 in Clayton Twp, Crawford County, WI. Alice died November 28, 1909 at the Crawford County, WI poor farm. She married William E. Carrell on October 20, 1889 at Soldiers Grove, Crawford County, WI. They had two children: Sarah Ellen Carrell (1894-1911), and Jesse Madison Carrell (December 20, 1890-April 1970). Sometime between 1940 and 1960, Jesse was living with Thomas "Babe" & Lafe Singles and a woman named Nora Martin in Crawford County, WI. Sarah Ellen is buried by her mother Alice at her uncle Dan Hill's plot in the North Clayton Cemetery. Husband, William E. Carrell, son of George "Washington" & Mary Ann "Anna" (Briggs) Carrell, was born in 1864. He died Abt. 1906, possibly in Chippawa County, WI?
On June 24, 1907, in Gays Mills, Crawford County, WI, Alice remarried to her first cousin, Manford O. Hill, son of William "Henry" & Eliza "JoAnn" (Payne) Hill. Manford was a schoolteacher at at Mt. Sterling & Seneca in 1890. It is unknown if they had any children, but is doubtful.
