BERRY, Hugh J. fgs, photo and kids
Hugh BERRY was my grandmother's brother, a very outgoing and interesting HERO who was wounded in WW I. He attended private subscription schools, was instrumental in flood control in TN, and other things futuristic for his time! He had many friends, his funeral had so many flower orders that the flower shop reserved some for later delivery to the cemetery, he had flowers delived periodically over the next few years! He died suddenly while working on his farm in Jackson Co. TN on Roaring River, where he also ran a general store. His mother died when he was just a toddler, leaving his Cumberland Presbyterian minister dad to raise 7 children alone. PJ
