In 1937 my father took the whole family away from Castiglione, Sicily, Italy because my brother John was going to be going in the Italian Army. My father being a Naturalized American citizen took the whole family away from the fascists dictator Beneto Mussolini who was getting too chummy with Hitler. In 1938-39 WWII started. So on Dec 1 1937 my father booked passages on the ship called The Rex and we landed in New York. We lived there until 1955 when my father retired & we moved to Kingston, NY
