My grandmother,Adele L.(Patterson)Ryan(1914-1999)began nursing school right out of high school. However,she withdrew after a few months to be with her husband to be Walter. After having raised three daughters and after Walter's untimely death of a heart attack in 1966 my grandmother decided to go back to finish nursing school. In 1968 she graduated in the top 10% of her class. She went to work several years as a nurse in a hospital and nursing home. ... show more
