Christmas in Alamo 1958
Jan, Pieter, & I drove back to Alamo from Lake Tahoe to join Van, Richard, Aunt Katie, & our housekeeper Maddie Marcell for Xmas. Our dog Ming Chee had died & Van thought he would surprise us with a black Pekingnese, 'Bay Hootsie Hut Nooie.' Instead, he was shocked to see that we had a tan puppy we named Chee Mayling. He kept his Peke & nicknamed him Buttons. Pictured are: Aunt Katie Aldridge Merrill of Oakland, Raymond, Jan, & Richard Van Tassell, & Pieter Van Tassel, with Buttons and Chee Mayling.
