I find this interesting as the card is drawn but real photo faces were used.
Rosemary Clooney starred alongside Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Vera-Ellen in White Christmas in 1954. It was the first film to be shot in Paramount's VistaVision process with color by Technicolor. The film boasted more than 15 songs. Lucky for Danny Kaye, Donald O'Connor became sick and was unable to shoot the film after Fred Astaire declined the project. Even though Vera-Ellen's character Ellen played the younger sister to Betty (Rosie Clooney), Rosemary Clooney was 7 years younger. The film took in $12 million dollars in 1954. Tickets were approximately 25¢ for children under 12 and 50¢ for over 12 & adults.

Christmas around 1900: A photo of a young girl looking up a chimney entitled "where Santa Lives." I'm sure that this is a staged portrait but what a wonderful picture of Christmas around the turn of the 19th century! Photo courtesy of the Library of Congress, W.H. Partridge
Secretary of War Harry H. Woodring and his wife with their children Cooper Coolidge, Marcus, and Melissa. The children are opening presents on Christmas Eve, 1937. Is it me, or does the oldest boy have more interesting presents than his sister? He has a whole train set with buildings - she has a . . . book?? A peddler on the streets of New York City in 1910 at Christmas time. I don't know what he's selling but he's surrounded by young boys so it has to be a neat toy - perhaps a whirligig (it kind of looks like one in the peddler's hand)? A 1910 Christmas - and shopping and merchandising were as important as now! Photo courtesy of the Library of Congress, Bain Collection

A Christmas Photo card in 1955? Yes, if your Dad was a commercial photographer! My Dad make several photo Christmas cards with his own photos of me. They may be all the rage now, but they were unique back then. Burbank Studios in Boston, Ken Burbank was my father. Well done, Dad!

This is an unsent postcard for Christmas. It reads: May your way through life be free from strife, and all your days with pleasure be, what more, my friend, could I wish thee? It's not dated, but probably early 1900's. On the back it says: A postcard of good cheer. A stamp today sends me away.

Christmas in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio in the 1950's. Probably taken in about December 1952. And a photograph of the photographer, Joseph "Joe" Cella (Journal News) while he is taking the photograph. The photo was taken of High Street looking east. He is standing on top of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument near the Great Miami River. You can still see patches of snow in the photo of High St.

A photo of Santa Claus, Zachariah Thomas Mackey Hargis, and maybe Shirley Temple(?) taken by American Photo Service, Hollywood, California #AP-5512. Zack was in some older movies, posed for painters, worked circus and sideshows. I have tried to identifly the little girl from family photos and found her not to be a family member. I have wondered if this was Shirley Temple sitting on his lap.
