Nita Clark took this picture of a picture of David on display at the Sheeks House, which his father had built and where David was born and raised along with five brothers and six sisters. He was the son of George Sheeks and Elizabeth (Canote). While becoming one of the wealthiest men in the county, he married three times: 1) Sylvania Cynthiana Lewis, by whom he had nine children: John W., Delbert, Edward, Martha, Isom, Franklin P., unnamed twins, one male and one female, who died in infancy, and Priscilla; 2) Susan Horsey, by whom he had ten children: Mary, George, Halbert, Laura, Homer, David, Rose, Albert, Lawrence, and Wade; and 3) Malinda Payne, by whom he had two children, Sallie and Everett. ... show more
