Fleming Newton
Fleming Newton, son of Decatur (Dick) and Lucy Warner, Newton of Lee County, Ky. He served aboard the LST 519 in the Atlantic Fleet. He was a plank owner, part of the ships original crew. He served as the ships baker. He served in WW II from 1941 - 1945. I was priviledged to be able to attend a Navy reunion with my father a coupld years before he died, he was very proud of his military service and was well thought of by his ship mates.
