This is John B. Hook (old man) his wife Paulina Elizabeth Cummings Hook. Dau. of Thomas Cummings and Elizabeth Lowe. The younger man is Rutherford Hook known as Ralph Hook and his wife Sarah Francis Davidson. Dau. of Abner Davidson. Sarah was known as Fannie Hook. John B. Hook owned a 1400 acre plantation in Cass Co. just north of Freeman Missouri. He is listed as one of the original pioneer settlers of Cass Co. He is known to have been a personal friend of the James family. Including Frank and Jesse who were frequent visitors to the Hook home. John B. Hook was the son of Stephen Hook and Elizabeth Harnsbarger of Rich Patch Va. John B. Hook's grandfather was also Stephen Hook. He was Capt. Stephen Hook of the American Revolution. Capt. Stephen Hook was married to Sarah Thrasher. Both of Frederick Co. Maryland, before moving to Bedford Co. VA. then to Bath Co. Va. Stephen was the son of James Hook Jr. who was the son of James Hooke sr. who was the son of one Thomas Hooke of Middlesex England. Thomas came to America in 1668, to the Maryland Colony.
