La última nota, triste canción
Broadside, uncut, shows a swooning man, glass in hand. The verse conveys a sad man's laments about a hopeless love. This song is maudlin, but the print conveys heartfelt sadness. The hapless lover delicately holds a tiny glass of what might be poison and braces his himself on the table, where the fatal love letter, suicide note, and an inkwell can be seen. On the verso, visible to the right of the uncut print, there are two additional songs: "The angel of my loves" and "The little virgin." The verso is identical to the recto.
