Laura Alice Needham
Laura Alice Needham was born 25 November 1863 in Polk Co., Missouri. She died 19 March 1950 in Acme, Childress Co., Texas. She was the daughter of the late John M.Needham and Matilda Dodson of Polk Co., Missouri. She married Peter B. Yount 5 March 1862 in Polk Co., Missouri. Peter was born 13 April 1837 in Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee and died 20 April 1919 in Acme, Childress Co., Texas. Peter and Laura moved to the Dallas, Texas area between 1884 and 1887. They later moved to the Kirkland, Texas area and engaged in farming until the death of Peter. They were the parents of nine girls. The two older girls were born in Polk Co., Missouri and the other seven were born in Dallas, Texas. Laura and Peter are buried in the Kirkland Cemetery, Kirkland, Childress Co., Texas. This photo was taken on the Vallance Farm in Plaska, Hall Co., Texas about 1943. Laura was living with her oldest daughter Anna Jennettie Pearl Yount Vallance.
