Malisa Caldonia (Price) Martin Nelson, Johnson Co Ky
This is my paternal gr-grandmother, Malisa Caldonia (Price) Martin Nelson, nicknamed "Caldonie" or "Donie". She was born in Knott Co, Ky Feb 22 1878, to Clay and Nancy Price Martin - they were very young (Clay was just short of 18 yrs old); I can find no record of their marriage, I've had people tell me Caldonia was illegitimate and therefore wasn't included in the Martin Family book written in Ky years ago. Caldonie was a sweet lady who raised 10 children in West Van Lear, Johnson Co, Ky with John Wesley Nelson, her husband, whom she married in Thealka, Johnson Co, Ky in 1893. She died Aug 3 1953 in West Van Lear, Ky after a short illness and is buried in the VanHoose Cemetery in Paintsville, Johnson Co., KY. Any help or information you have would be appreciated! Or if you have any info on her mother, Nancy Price, or father Clay Martin from Knott Co Ky - please contact me! Thanks for your help!
Date & Place: at PRICE Martin Nelson in Paintsville, Johnson Co, Kentucky United States

Both Father and Mother's families are from eastern Kentucky - Johnson, Floyd, and Magoffin Counties mostly. We live in Ohio now, but still have a few hundred cousins in Kentucky!
