Nicholas was born to Ellen and Xavier Schekoske in the area of Glamorgan Vale near Ipswich Qld.He had an older half brother-William Valentine Steele and 2 sisters-Eva Ellen and Mary Agnes Schekoske.Nicholas and his family moved to the Wondai area around 1903 and his parents became selectors for farms in the McEuen area.Nicholas married a Margaret Hilda Eisenmenger on the 5-3-1934 and together they had a daughter by the name of Enid Margaret Schekoske. Enid married a Colin McEwan Campbell in 1953. Nicholas and his family stayed in the Wondai area until his death. Nicholas also had a younger brother by the name of Albert Schekoske.
