Thomas Davis Williams is my 2nd GGFA who was born in MO but migrated to Fannin County, Texas. T. D. served in the Civil War and fought at Pea Ridge Battlefield. When he returned home afer the war, his beloved wife Hulda Sebastian had died. He remarried Martha Ford and they moved to Garfield, AR by 1870 where he built a flagstone house on Sugar Creed that is still extant.
My great grandfather was also at Pea Ridge. I have an article transcribed from a Missouri newspaper that is sort of his diary tho it appears to have been written all at once after the war. By James Leonidas Mitchell. The Williams part of my family tree is way back --6th gg An Elizabeth Williams married George Patchen, probably in early 1700s. Don't have any other info on them. Patchens were primarily around Wisconsin
Not sure if we connect, but the migration pattern of my family parallels your. My paternal grandfather, Hugh Blair McGee, is a descendant of Charles Williams 1725-1803 and his wife Elizabeth Abernathy. The Williams, Abernathy, and McGee families intermarried and seemed to move from the Carolina to the AR/MO areas and then on to Texas where many are buried. My own paternal grandparents are buried in Siloam Springs, AR. You never know where you will find a connection! Here's hopin--Sharon
