Vaughnie Ecton Simmons was born 18 Feb 1909 in Grove Center, Union Co., Kentucky, son of Claude John and Nancy Hanks (nee Marrs) Simmon.

On 7 Jun 1930 in Chicao, Cook Co., Illinois, he married Lenora Pollyann Clarke. Vaughnie died 14 Dec 1978 in Gladstone, Clay Co., Missouri.

As a boy, Vaugnie complained of having to wear knickers to school. His mother told him that when he got to be as tall as his father he could wear long pants. He wore knickers through his first year of high school. This seems like a remarkable story since Pee Wee was one of the shortest of men and Vaughnie one of the tallest! ... show more
