Versos de Valentín Mancera traidos del estado de Guanajuato
Broadside shows a Mexican guitarist singing in a doorway, as two soldiers escort Valentín Mancera, an outlaw from the state of Guanajuato. Mancera, murdered by the police in 1880, was famous for his hatred of the gachupines (the pure-blooded Spaniards who formed the upper class). His class hatred and the details surrounding his death made him a natural hero. The song "Murió Valentín Mancera," on the recto, describes and laments his death. An additional song, "Adios, adios!" is on the verso.
