Snapshot of WWII Navy buddies and devoted lifelong friends, STEPHEN EARL ROSS, SR. (1921-1980) and WALTER (OBIE) OBERMEIER. In 1940, Stephen and Obie went aboard Battleship USS MARYLAND BB-46. They served togther through World War II, both Pearl Harbor survivors. They boarded ship in Bremerton, Washington and served together at Pearl Harbor, Midway, Tarawa, Kwajalein, Saipan, Palau, Leyte and Okinawa. Each retired with 20 years of service. ... show more
