2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
Walter "Wally" George Lautenslager married Pauline Margaret Williams on 19 April 1930. They had two children: Joan Rita Lautenslager, born 5 September 1931, in Reading, Ohio, and Robert Eugene Lautenslager, born 16 August 1940, in Reading, Ohio. They resided at 308 West Benson Street, Reading, Ohio. The apartment was above the old Harrigan's Pharmacy. (The pharmacy has long since closed - today the building houses a retail shop, located in the heart of Reading's Bridal District.) In April, 1980, everyone attended Wally's and Pauline's 50th wedding anniversary dinner celebration that was held at Sorrento's Restaurant, in Reading, Ohio. In late October, 1980, Wally became very sick, and was hospitalized. Pauline, who never drove a day in her life, made it to the hospital every day to see him, and to bring him clean pajamas - because he refused to wear a hospital gown. She passed away in her sleep on 10 September 1980. Wally was released from the hospital to attend his wife's funeral, and he never returned. He passed away less than a year later, on 23 July 1981.
