1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
dash of salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Lightly beat the egg. Stir in sugar, salt and vinegar. Cook slowly until thickened to the consistency of syrup. A double boiler is recommended as it burns easily. Let cool to room temperature. It should be fairly thick.
Cut bananas in quarters. Spread sauce on flat surfaces of banana pieces, top with nuts. A family holiday tradition that's at least three generations old.
