A photo of Evald Gustav Lozeris with his parents and friends in Adelaide. I think I (Annmarie Chandler) took this photo at Christmas/New Year 1969/1970. Ev is on the right (back row, standing). Seated in front of him is his mum, Eva. Also in the back row is Mr Jusaitis (Adelaide) and Bill. I'm not sure about all the others, but seated from the left were my good Adelaide friends and neighbours, Lilly and Manfred Jusaitis. "Ein Prosit!!!!"
(By the late 1960's nearly everyone in Australia had cars, and thus began the visits interstate between the Lozeris family and their friends. I loved it because the parties and get-togethers were so different to what I was used to. Nearly everyone played an instrument of some sort and performed and danced for each other.

Ev, Bill, Annmarie (me) and friends in Adelaide, 1970. Ev and his mates started to make regular car visits from Melbourne to Adelaide around this time. The car, a Cortina, was a present from his parents. The boys were the sons of refugee migrants from WW2 Europe, making a go of it in Melbourne's working class suburbs. Melbourne seemed more stratified than Adelaide between its "New Australian" citizens, and the descendants of white Australia. Adelaide at that time had no such stratification on a large scale (except by wealth) and it was easier for different social and ethnic groups to integrate.

2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
