By 1789 the Rinaldi family owned a grand home in Palermo (claimed to rival Villa Borghese in Rome) and thousand of acres outside of Palmero where their wine was produced. Conti Salvatore Rinaldi I was kind and generous to his workers and gave massive gifts of land and money to the Roman Catholic church. He died after a fire destroyed most of Casa Rinaldi.
