A bit of a mystery! My great great grandfather, James Wilson Bryning, b Liverpool UK 1823, married a Jane Kelsal in about 1843. This boy may have been given her maiden name in her honour.
James(b1850 Wolverhanpton UK) is the brother of my great grandfather John Bryning(b 1851 Wolverhanpton UK).
James emigrated to the US about 1887 and married Belle Redden from Delaware in 1891
This is my great uncle, brother of my granfather Federick William Gough Dickins b1871. They were descended from the Dickins/ens of Brixworth and the surrounding area of Northamptonshire UK
Shows my grandfather, William Windley b1875, Camberwell, my grandmother, Clara Lissenden, b1878 Tunbridge Wells and some of their children. Clara had a sister, Alice, b1885 Walworth UK, who married a Mr Jolley. They moved to Canada and had 2 children, at least: Arthur and Leonard.
Thanks to a Rootsweb contact, I have this photo showing my grandfather WINDLEY (William Henry Thomas in various combinations-born 1875 in Camberwell, UK) and some of his children with Clara LISSENDEN: Lily, Fred, Alice,Jack?
This, I think, is either my g grandfather's brother or his nephew.(My g grandfather, John, was born in 1851 at Wolverhampton, UK) James was also born there in 1850 and emigrated to the USA in 1887. The picture is entitled "Home of James Bryning with wife, sister and sister's children in Philadelphia".
My grandfather William, grandmother Clara (nee Lissenden),Jack, Lily, George, Alice, Fred. William's male ancestors were William, Theodore, Thomas....of Camberwell and Lambeth.
