A Civil War Soldier, connected to a Young and Mallory family of Moira, Franklin County, NY

Hanging in the home of a Young and Mallory descendant now in her 90's, this photo was thought to be of Alanson Crosby Young b. in Canada in 1823, however, I can find no proof that 'Crosby Young' ever fought in the Civil war. A picture of Crosby's brother James Young Jr. is also in the same home and is identified. James fought in a Minnesota Regiment, however Crosby was still in NY until at least 1865. Any help appreciated if you can ID the picture! Sincerely, Marjorie
