2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

Captain John Henry Stout
This is a photograph of my great-great-great grandfather, Captain John Henry Stout. According to his obituary, published in the Dallas Morning News on 3 January 1891, he died in his home in Quitman Texas on 27 December 1890 of heart failure. His age is stated in the obituary as 93 and a half years. He was an adventurer, explorer, Indian fighter, scout, Veteran of the Texas Revolution and the Confederacy, Captain of the Texas Rangers, first sheriff of Wood county, and served in the Texas House of Representatives, Sixth Legislature, 1855-1856, representing Wood and Van Zandt counties.
