2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
Aunt Jean was born Mary Jean Valverde to Mildred and Daniel Carey Valverde in New York. She had an older sister, Mildred Lorraine (went by Lorraine - she was my mother) who lived most of her life in Dover, NJ, and also had a younger sister - Oralie Adelle, who lived in the Los Angeles area, most recently in San Bernardino, but also lived for a while in Dover, NJ. On her father's side, she was descended from Jose Valverde of Pascagoula, MS, of course there is a lot of other background there. On her mother's side, she was related to the Story's, Hart's, Smith's and several other well-storied families. With her husband John Mushaney, she had twins - Linda Susan and Carey, and later Laurie. Carey passed away rather young after having successful open heart surgery, but having complications after the surgery. I won't go into details about the other two for reasons I won't discuss here either.
