2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

Jean R. Kinz
Jean was a child of a large family during the Great Depression. She began work as a child to help support the family. She worked in photography and modeling. During the World's Fair in New York in 1938 she served as a hostess at the Polish Pavilion. At the outbreak of World War II, she worked in the defense industry for Goodyear Rubber and Bendix Corporations. After hearing of Nazi atrocities in Poland, she enlisted in the Women's Army Air Corp in 1943 and continued there until 1946 when the Service was renamed Women's Army Air Force. She was both, therefore, a WAAC and a WAAF. She was Honorably Discharged with commendations in 1946 as a Corporal. Her maiden name was Gajewski (Gajewska in the feminine gender), which changed to Kinz upon marrying Joseph R. Kinz in 1946. She gave birth to an only son, Joseph R. Kinz Jr. in 1947. She was a loving wife and Mother whose generosity and gentleness was attested to by all who knew her. She was highly intelligent despite receiving only a sixth grade education, and mastered all jobs and employment she undertook. She is greatly missed by all family and friends surviving her..
