Joel and Myrtle Holcomb with son Chester and his wife Erah. Family shot of my great
grandad's brother's family.
I am trying to get in touch with descendants of Joel or his son Chester's family. Please contact me if you descend from this branch.
Marvin and Joel Holcombe taken sometime in the 1930s. Their brother was Emmett Clarence Holcomb who was my great grandfather on my mother's side of the family.
I have been trying to contact the descendants of Marvin and Joel, maybe one of them will see this and get in touch with me.
Lucy Holcombe was the only woman to have her picture on confederate money. She was the so-called queen of the confederacy.
My great grandfather James Thomas Richardson who married Alice Nora Pendleton on Feb. 01, 1891 on who was my grandmother Windle's mother. James Thomas was a Photographer, he had studios in Hunt Co. and in Fannin Co. TX. He was born in TN in June of 1863. He died in Dallas, Dallas, Co. TX in 1945 and is burried in the Lamasco Cemetery, Lamasco, Fannin Co. TX.
I am currently researching his line, and hope someone in the Richardson Clan can shed some light on him. He didn't mention his family much.
My great great grandmother Lucinda Willis Windle.
The Holcomb family coat of arms
Azure field; Chevron, argent between three Turks heads in profile, couped at shoulders, weathed about the temples, sabled and of the second crest - a man's head full of face, couped at the breast proper wreathed around the temples, or on azure. The motto "Vertias et Fortitudo" (Truth in Courage). The wreaths around the head indicate probably Saracens, ancient enmies of Christianty whom the Holcombes oppose.
