Leif Myhre was born in Norway to Johannes Silas Myhre (1898 - 1981) and Jennie Katrine Jensen (1891 - 1951). Both of his parents had also been born in Norway. He had siblings Andrew (1919 - 2012), Liv (1921 - 2016), John (1928 - 2006), Arvid (1930 - 2021), Miriam (1932 - 2011), and Robert Myhre (1934 - 2013). An entrepreneur and philanthropist, Leif immigrated to the United States in 1928 with his birth family and married Judy Haugen . They had sons Jeffrey A. and Gary L. Myhre. Leif began as a real estate developer on Staten Island, where he built over 500 homes. He moved onto becoming involved in shipbuilding at the Staten Island shipyards. The philanthropic side of his life involved Christian Missionary work, as well as taking an active part in the Billy Graham Crusade and the Campus Crusade for Christ. He was also interested in horses, becoming involved with the United States Equestrian Team. He was curious about so much!
