His father was a musician and he was an illustrator and painter - maybe his creative genes are being expressed in the "facts" of his life. Rico's mother's name was Maria Petesch, 1868 - 1948 and his father's name was Salvatore Tomaso, 1866 - 1924. He had 1 brother - Salvatore - and 2 sisters - Elaine and Carla. In the 1900 federal census states that Errico (sic) Tomaso, age 2, was living in Chicago Ward 25, IL with his family. In the household were father Salvatore, age 33, mother Marian (sic), age 31, Hulda Peterson (servant), Charlotte Petesch (mom's sister), Ivan Peterson (man servant), and Salvatore, age 3. Father Salvatore was a musician and had emigrated from Italy 28 years ago. On his WW2 draft card for young men (NY), Rico stated that his next of kin was Helen G Tomaso, he was 44 years old, and self-employed. He also stated that he was born in 1897 while other records indicate that he was born in 1896. Description: 5 ft 10.5 inches, 178 pounds, ruddy skin, brown eyes and black hair.
